from anxiety and chronic pain to mental and physical freedom

I'm Silvia, and this is how Yoga has changed my life

Silvia Mangini yoga teacher, photographer, creative writer

I am a qualified yoga teacher trained and certified in Rishikesh, India, where I’ve completed my 200 and 300-hour Teacher Trainings and lived for over 7 months to refine my teaching methodology and deepen my practice.

Aside from my certifications, Yoga is a path that has changed and positively affected my entire life.

I grew up dealing with a surgical scoliosis, treated over the years with a corset and a cast, which helped me to contain the curve aggravation, but didn’t free me from chronic pain and discomfort.

Yet my body was not the “yoga body type” we often think about.

Like many, I’ve also struggled for years with anxiety, self-doubt and insecurities, which led to bad habits and lack of self-esteem and care.

Without knowing what I was doing, one day I stepped on the mat following a random YouTube video.

That was the day that would have changed my life forever.

Since then, I kept showing up on my mat with no expectations but full openness to this practice.

Witnessing the transformation was mind-blowing.

From practising even just 20 minutes every day, my body became stronger, more flexible and more open.

My mind reached levels of self-awareness that I could not imagine before, allowing me to navigate life complexities with ease and trust in my inner self. My life has become a simpler, better place to live.

Year by year, my practice deepened and extended since the day I decided to start teaching others, and I moved to India to learn it at the source.

Abandon any expectation and prepare to feel as good as you have never felt before

WHAT YOGA REALLY IS?

The yoga practice is often misunderstood as deep stretching or physical activity. Yoga is actually way more than that, but rather than tell you what to expect by stepping on the mat, I invite you to try it and to experience it on yourself.

Yoga is a transformative journey that involves your body and your mind, a gift to your life that you will never regret.

My classes are tailored to all levels and adjusted to accommodate different body types and physical conditions.

They propose a combination of pranayama, movement and meditation to accompany you on an immersive journey toward your self-awareness and inner clarity.

Whether you are an experienced practitioner or an absolute beginner, it will be my honour to guide you through the practice.

Come and join me as you are.

I’ll wait for you on the mat.

People who practiced with me said

Molto molto bello.

Daniela B.

Never practiced yoga before? FAQ

I'm a complete beginner. Can I still join your yoga classes?

Absolutely. My classes are beginner-friendly, and I always offer modifications to suit all levels. You don’t need to be flexible or experienced. Just come as you are, it would be my honour to introduce you to the practice.

What type of yoga do you teach?

My classes combine elements of Hatha Yoga (with deep focus on the asana explanation and alignment) and Vinyasa flow (a more fluid sequence which combines breath and movement), starting and always ending with a guided meditation.

We focus on mindful movement, breath awareness, and alignment.

Each class is designed to help you build strength, increase flexibility, and find inner calm.

What should I bring to a yoga class?

If we talk about online practice, all you essentially need is comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely and a yoga mat.

Props, such as blocks or blankets, can be useful, but they are not essential. I strongly encourage anyone to come to practice as they are, rather than finding reasons to postpone their practice (such as not having a certain equipment).

If we practice in person, it depends on the circumstances. I might provide you with a mat and everything else, but I’ll confirm depending on the event type.

Can I eat before practicing yoga?

You should always practice with an empty stomach to avoid acid reflux or regurgitation during the inverted asana. You can have a light snack at least 2 hours before practising. If you have a full meal, wait 3 hours before your class.

How often should I practice yoga as a beginner?

I encourage anyone to practice every day, even if for the shortest amount of time, like 10/15 minutes, rather than a full hour once per week.

Showing up regularly is critical to building a consistent routine and experiencing the benefits of the practice.

If you can’t every day, I would say that 3 – 4 times a week can help you build consistency and see some progress. Although always keep in mind that yoga is not the gym, it is a mindful path that is meant to accompany you every day.

Do I need to be flexible to start yoga?

Absolutely not. I could not even touch my feet when I started my own practice. Come as you are. Flexibility will improve with regular practice.

What are the benefits of practicing yoga regularly?

In a short way, Yoga gives you happiness.

Other benefits of a constant practice are improving flexibility, building strength, reducing stress, enhancing mental clarity, and supporting emotional well-being.

Stick to the practice for a month, even for short classes, and experience it by yourself.

Can yoga help with stress and anxiety?

Yes, yoga is a powerful tool to manage stress and anxiety.

Breathwork, mindful movement, and relaxation techniques used in class help activate your parasympathetic nervous system, your body’s natural resting mode.

However, if you suffer from severe anxiety, panic attacks, or mental issues such as OCD, the practice alone will not be enough to resolve the problem. (I am speaking from my own experience).

Certainly, it remains a very effective tool to keep on the side of psychological therapy, and it will always help you to feel better, never worse. Yoga is a safe space.

How long is each yoga class?

Classes typically last 60 or 90 minutes, including meditation, warm-up, main practice, and a final relaxation. The duration of online practice varies. Check the class schedule for specific timings.

What’s the difference between yoga and stretching?

While both involve flexibility, yoga is a holistic practice that integrates strengthening movement, breath, mindfulness, and meditation. It benefits not just your muscles but your nervous system, mental state, and emotional well-being.

Can yoga help me with back pain or scholiosis?

Yes, many yoga poses strengthen core muscles, improve posture, and release tension in the back.

I had a surgical scholiosis, and I’ve immensely benefited from regular yoga practice to the point of getting rid of chronic back pain.

However, if you have chronic pain, I recommend starting with gentle yoga or a private session for personalised guidance.

Each body is different, and a generic answer can always be harmful when injuries or specific health conditions are involved.

Do you offer private yoga sessions?

Yes, I offer 1:1 private yoga sessions tailored to your specific goals, whether you want to improve your practice, recover from an injury, or simply have a class designed just for you. Contact me through the form below to arrange our schedule and work on details.

How can I book a class with you?

You can easily book a class through the booking page up in this page, choosing from single pass or multiple passes for group classes and 1:1 sessions.

Choose the class that fits your needs and schedule a group, private, or online.

If it’s your first time, feel free to reach out with questions!
